“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”
~John Muir
What a treat it is to open my back door and walk out into the woods. I've been looking for extra work these days, and have found the antidote to going bonkers in the process: Hiking. We live at the foreground of the Blue Ridge Parkway and hundreds of miles of wilderness. Luna & I still haven't exhausted new hikes and terrains radiating from the house, looking at the map this morning I was struck by the dense richness left to explore. Exciting adventures await!

| These papery leaves were so pretty dancing in the sun and wind. The sunshine is a welcome addition to my winter I have to say after being in Oregon for many years. |

“Trees're always a relief, after people.”
~David Mitchell
I wonder if Luna shares Mitchell's sentiment? Maybe she feels that way about fungi, she certainly is good at leading me to mycological wonders.

| These are high on my list of favorite fungal finds. Probably because they remind me of agates. |
